The dynamic foursome of Brooklyn, Iris, Lorraine, and Tammy make another dazzling appearance, as only this squad can do. Red Roses is another hot hit by Tasha Hutchison, and this is why: Take four long-time, dear friends-sisters in spirit, really-and put them together on a trip of their dreams. The thing is, this is not a trip just for fun, but one in which each of these phenomenal women discover truths about themselves. This is no easy task, as – true to close friendships – these women are going to challenge each other, while they hold each other close in their big hearts. Brooklyn decides to learn about her mysterious past, as well as her closest sister friend, Iris. Similar in some ways and different in others, these two explore with the support of those close to them. Tammy and Lorraine, in the meantime, explore the fun of getting away from it all. There are clues, as well, but that mystery is left to the adventure of reading this jewel. Trust your instincts, know your squad, and keep your heart intact as important topics such as relationship dynamics, health challenges, adoption search, DNA testing, and – yes – romances are explored.

This book was extremely relatable and showed a great group of friends who are different and each dealing with their own issues along the way. These women each deal with personal struggles and are able to find peace, inspiration, and sisterhood. It was well-written and held my attention throughout.

This was a great trip with great company. This life-affirming tale reminds us that happiness is possible if we find the courage to reach for it. I loved the imagery, the descriptions, even the plot. I love the sense of friends that are family. A poignant look at how the bonds of sisterhood can shape our lives.

I really loved this. For me it was a book that delivers everything a reader craves. A story without compromise as you will notice during the hard hitting moments. If it's atmosphere you're wanting, this book has it in bucket loads.

The idea that you never know a person until you walk a mile in their shoes is driven home in this tale of self-discovery. Despite being picture perfect on the outside, Brooklyn Monti struggles to balance the longings of her heart with the reality of her illness, a hereditary nerve disease she believes makes her unfit to be loved. Naturally, most readers will buy this book for the romance that inevitably arises to complicate the plot, but I believe the book's real draw is its message: A life lived in fear is a life half lived, so take the chance and live to the fullest.
