Interview with Brooklyn Monti in Broken Petals (Part One)

Updated: Aug 16, 2022

Brooklyn Monti in Broken Petals

Q. What is your full name? Do you have a nickname?

A. My full name is Brooklyn Denise Monti. I have a few nicknames. But the

Profanity Police is the funniest one. (chuckles) My college friends call me

that because sometimes they can get a bit vulgar, and I have to reel them in.

Q. Where and when were you born?

A. I was raised in Woodcrest in ‘83. Whew, that seems so long ago,

doesn’t it?

Q. Wait, weren’t you born in ‘82?

A. Aah, you caught that. You know your stuff. I like that.

Q. Who are/were your parents?

A. Oh gosh, what a complex question. But I’ll do my best to give you the short

version. Shortly after I was born, my mother succumbed to Huntington’s disease.

My father was afraid I had the same gene, so the thought of going through the

same thing with me scared him. So, that’s how my wonderful parents came

into my life.

Q. That’s interesting. How was your life growing up?

A. I was a tab bit spoiled. But there was a balance. My parents taught me twice

as much as they gave me. They were the best. I'm thankful my birth father got

that part right.
