Brooklyn Monti in Broken Petals

Q. Are you optimistic or pessimistic?

A. When it comes to anything outside of my life, I’m optimistic. But it’s hard to remain optimistic when everything I know, and love could change in the blink of an eye because of Huntington’s. All I can do is try.

Q. What is your greatest fear?

A. Simply put, I won’t have enough time to do life. (A single tear dropped)

Q. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

A. I never believed in it until I met Kai. Now you could call me a believer.

Q. What do you measure success in?

A. Happiness in life. Happiness in family. Happiness in Love. Living life and being happy doing it.

Q. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings in the company of others?

A. It depends on how close I am to the person and how much I trust them. There are some people I'm honest and upfront about my thoughts and feelings. There are some people I will be honest with, but I will go slow to tell them what I am feeling inside. I'll hide my emotions and feelings without even noticing it.

Broken Petals is a story that explores the complexity of friendship, love, legacy, and death as a young woman dying to live ventures on a journey of self-discovery.
