Iris Reid in Broken Petals

Q. I FINALLY GET TO MEET THE INFAMOUS FIRECRACKER. ARE YOU REALLY

AS FEISTY AS BROOKLYN PORTRAYED, OR DID SHE EXAGGERATE?

A. I get that all the time. But I'm only being me. Some call it feisty. I call it spirited with a side of magnetism.

Q.I FELL TO THE FLOOR IN LAUGHTER WHEN BROOKLYN TOLD THE STORY

ABOUT YOU AND THE PSYCHIC. DID THAT HAPPEN?

A. It's not funny. That woman still owes me 200 dollars. But yes, she told me I would be wearing red when I meet the love of my life. But I didn't wear red as long as Brooklyn alleged. Maybe once or twice. Surely not long enough to spark rumors of me joining a gang. She's so dramatic. (giggles)

Q. WHENEVER YOU'D BREAKDOWN AT THE THOUGHT OF LOSING BROOKLYN,

I SHARED YOUR EMOTIONS. HOW ARE YOU DEALING WITH IT ALL NOW?

A. It never gets any easier. Brooklyn is my sister. I never want to live on this planet without her. That's something I need to work on within me. So, when I'm around Brooklyn, I push those fears aside and be in the moment with her. You must learn to cherish every second. That's the key.

Q. BROOKLYN IS AMAZING. SHE'S MADE HER MARK ON THE WORLD. EVERYTHING ELSE IS ONLY ICING ON THE CAKE. BUT I HAVE TO ASK. DID YOU AND RODNEY WORK THINGS OUT?

A. Oh no, this is where I say thank you and goodnight. (Laughs hysterically)
