Self-Care & Self-Love

2020 taught us so many things. But the biggest thing 2020 taught me was to love myself even more. For me, loving myself more starts with self-care.

I actually started doing yoga. Prior to covid, I never would've thought twice about doing yoga. It seemed boring and waste of time. But after the first time of doing it, my body and mind felt great. I move better. I get better sleep. For the longest, I've suffered from insomnia. If you're a writer, then you understand how difficult it can be to simply fall asleep.

During the lockdown, I got into a rut of keeping my hair tied up, comfy clothes, and lounging around, eating food that's not good for my body.

A RECIPE FOR DISATER.

I had to stop and look at myself. How could I say I love myself and not take care of myself?

The virus is still on the prowl, and I try to avoid it as best I can which means I stay home most of the time. But now, staying home doesn't mean tied up hair, comfy clothes, and lounging around 24/7. Staying home means, wake up and do some yoga, make myself pretty, and work. When I'm off of work, I'll go walking for at least 30-40 minutes.

It is my goal to build a life I don't need to escape from. I deserve peace. I deserve to feel amazing inside and out every day, not only when I'm going somewhere special.

This is me on a Tuesday looking hot and going nowhere. lol

I'll leave you with this quote, and I hope it resonates with you as much as it has resonated with me.

"An empty lantern provides no light. Self-care is the fuel that allows your light to shine brightly."

Have a wonderful day and remember to show yourself a LOT of love.

XOXO
